Adelaide-based architecture and interior design practice Studio Gram engaged Remington Matters to supply furniture and custom joinery for their new headquarters in a converted auto repair shop in Brompton. More than just desks and meeting rooms, the space was conceived to reflect Studio Gram’s creative philosophy and commitment to fostering social interactions and dialogue amongst the local design community.
Custom sideboards crafted from 8mm-thick aluminium provide storage and space delineation. One unit houses a record player and vinyl collection, doubling as an integrated DJ console for industry events. Matching aluminium cladding was applied to the speaker set above. An informal meeting area is anchored by the Calder Fleek Table, fitted with a custom stone top and contrasting exposed tenon detail in timber, and paired with Juliet chairs in black Italian leather.
Working closely with Studio Gram, Remington Matters also developed a custom four-metre-long custom boardroom table with integrated power. The tabletop, formed using a single piece of aluminium, rests on a powder-coated steel frame with chunky cylindrical legs.
The care and customisation behind each piece mirrors Studio Gram’s considered approach to architecture and interiors, resulting in a layered, expressive space that reflects the identity of the practice.
