The latest addition to Fremantle’s West End, the Owston Hotel occupies the restored Owston’s Buildings, once home to the iconic Roma restaurant. Remington Matters was engaged to deliver the majority of the furniture and joinery across the hotel’s 11 rooms and common areas.

Our scope included credenzas in high-gloss walnut burl, built-in robes with aged brass hanging rails, custom lights with repurposed Murano glass bowls as backings, as well as vanities, tables and bedheads. We worked closely with local design practice Rezen and the clients, carefully considering materiality, detailing and vintage accents to help shape the transportive vision of this boutique hotel.

With a dedicated team, the project evolved through ongoing refinement until delivery, resulting in a nostalgic interior designed to keep guests returning and make them feel at home.
