When
COX was designing its new Adelaide studio in the heart of the CBD, it looked no further than Remington Matters to collaborate on a series of statement furniture pieces, reflecting its commitment to local craftsmanship and community.
Working closely with
COX, Remington Matters designed and crafted a bespoke eight-metre-long boardroom table encompassing steel, solid local Blackbutt timber, Italian leather and custom-made hardware.
Challenging site access meant the table was divided into eight sections and installed on-site for a seamless finish. Practical requirements were addressed with an under-mount daisy chain of GPOs and data outlets, ensuring the table was fit for purpose without compromising on aesthetics. A 1.6-metre leather inlay at the larger end of the tapered pill-shaped table introduces a material threshold, delineating a ‘space within a space’ for smaller meetings.
Alongside the boardroom and meeting room tables, Remington Matters adapted the Bobby desk to serve multiple purposes, from casual dining to informal collaboration. Castors embedded in the timber feet allow the pastel-pink desks to be moved into different configurations as needed.
By fostering local collaboration, the multi-award-winning office is rooted in place, benefitting from a level of customisation and on-the-ground problem solving that has created a forward-thinking creative space, conceived by designers for designers.
